Welcome to a virtual tour of our creamery which is located on the bottom level of our Farm Store. The creamery consists of 5 rooms and a storage room.
The magic begins in the Milking Parlor. The Nubian
goats are brought into the parlor two at a time from an outside holding
area to be milked by hand on a double milking stand. From this room,
they exit to go back out to their pasture.
adjoining room is our Milk Processing Room where the milk is filtered
into larger buckets and where the milk buckets are washed, stored and
sanitized just before their use.
Cheesemaking Room is where the cheese is made. Our pasteurizer is
located in this room along with our chiller, work table, sinks, drain
table, freezer and refrigerator. (CLICK) to learn more about how we make the cheese.
A Cheese Cave is located just off of the Cheesemaking Room where our raw milk cheese is stored on shelves and kept in an humidity and temperature controlled environment while it ages.
also have a Vestibule which leads into the Cheesemaking Room from the
outside for changing clothes, shoes and putting on hair nets, hats and
shoe covers. A small Storage Room located just off the Vestibule
contains our hot water heater and electric fuse boxes.
