Buffalo Creek Farm and Creamery, LLC is a working farmstead goat dairy owned and operated by the Blakley’s.

We are happy to welcome by appointment small groups (e.g. garden clubs, senior church groups, Scouts, 4-Hers, home school students (age 6+) and Farm Schools) of no more than 15 people (including leaders/chaperones) to the farm to talk “goats”.  Our informational sessions last approximately forty-five minutes. There is a $5.00 per person CASH fee for groups of 10 to 15, which also includes a cup of our Vanilla Goat-La-To (view ingredients below) to enjoy during the talk. Groups of 9 or less will be charged a $50.00 CASH flat fee and each person will also receive a cup of our Vanilla Goat-La-To.

***Educational talks are not available to public/private school classes or to children under the age of 6.***

Reservations must be made at least 2 weeks in advance.  Talks are normally scheduled on Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday mornings at 9 or 10AM and are not canceled due to hot, cold or rainy weather.  Talks are subject to cancellation by us due to farm conflicts. CASH payment and completed Goat Talk Form are due at arrival.  Questions regarding reservations should be sent to robin@BuffaloCreekFarmNC.com.

During this educational talk we will discuss life on a dairy goat farm, cheesemaking, Goat-La-To, sheep, livestock guardians, and more as time permits.  Animals may be viewed from the pavilion during the talk.

***We are bio-secure farm. There will be NO access to our pastures, barns, milking parlor, or cheese/Goat-La-To making facility and NO pets are allowed.***

While you are at the farm, you may also visit our Farm Store where we sell farmstead meats, goat’s milk cheeses, Goat-La-To, goat’s milk soap, local food products and gift items.

REMINDER
We are not Disney World. Our mission is to educate you about food and other agriculture goods, not to entertain you for hours on end. Talks are 45 minutes in length so plan accordingly.

Honor farmers’ time. If you have scheduled a visit, arrive on time. We will begin on schedule. If you arrive after our agreed upon time, we will not be able to accommodate you.

Our farm is not a petting zoo. While you may get to pet a goat or another farm animal, it is best to prevent meltdowns by children and adults by not promising animal interaction. Animal feeding is NOT allowed and this includes pulling grass and weeds. Our animals have special dietary needs and outside food can lead to a nutritional imbalance.

Wear shoes that can get dirty. Don’t forget a cooler if you plan to purchase cheese or meat. (If you forget, we have small disposable coolers for sale in the Farm Store at a nominal price which also includes an ice pack(s)).

Wash your hands! No hand to mouth activity. No eating, smoking, or pacifiers around the animals! We have a handicap accessible restroom with soap and water for your use.

Be responsible for your children! Keep them under your supervision at all time. They may not “free range” on the farm. The same goes for “free ranging” adults. Visitors need to stay with the group at all times. There are several private homes, farm buildings, equipment and areas that are “off limits”.

All participants need to be aware of the following WARNING which is posted in various locations on the farm and be familiar and in agreement with it before making reservations:

WARNING: Under North Carolina law, there is no liability for an injury to or death of a participant in an agritourism activity conducted at this agritourism location if such injury or death results from the inherent risks of the agritourism activity. Inherent risks of agritourism activities include, among others, risks of injury inherent to land, equipment, and animals, as well as the potential for you to act in a negligent manner that may contribute to your injury or death. You are assuming the risk of participating in this agritourism activity.

Our goal is to connect you with farms that offer the best in healthy, sustainably raised foods.  Agriculture is a vital part of Forsyth County and there isn’t a better way to learn about where your food comes from than to visit with local farmers.  We hope your experience at our farm will leave you with an understanding of how critical a local food system is to preserving the rural landscape of Forsyth County and providing our community with healthy and delicious foods.

And, last but not least, enjoy your time with us seeing where food comes from!
